Chino Hills Rocks

I have been away, so way behind in my adventures. So this is the Earthquake report.....
I wasn't home, I was in the local nail salon when it hit. All the manicurists ran out of the building. It was kind of funny. The lady in the next chair and I looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders, and said "Oh an earthquake. I wonder where the epicenter is?" I looked up at the TV on the wall, as the news anchors got back behind the desk. I read the words at the bottom of the screan that said that the center was in Chino Hills!! With that in mind I thought I had better call some people and let them know I was OK. As I got to my cell phone it was ringing and it was my mom. (the only call that got through) I told her I was OK. Please call my brother who is our out of state contact and let him know. (Our children couldn't remember who the contact was....)Luckily, Holly was in contact with my niece in Montana, who had heard from her dad (my brother) so Holly notified Andy I was OK. The phones did not work for 4 hours. People could leave voice mails, and messages on my land line, but I could not return them, or even pick up the voice mail. As I took stock of where the rest of the family was.....Wes in Idaho, Brad and Katie in Utah, Emily with her dad....I was concerned about Holly, Sam and the girls who lived near by. Found out they were OK.
When I got home from the Nail Salon, and opened the garage door, out rolled spray paint cans, tubes of caulk, sheets of wood had fallen, as did the sawhorses, and some canned goods. I was a bit nervous about what I would find in the house. Actually not to bad. Everything had shifted that was on shelves and tables, some items had fallen to the floor, just a few things broke. The rolling shelves that Andy had made for the pantry and rolled out, and a few pictures had fallen. I was glad I wasn't home when it hit. The funniest phone message was from Wes. He was watching the news in Idaho, and a newscopter was circling The Shoppes in Chino Hills looking for damage, and as the circle widened, he saw our house. The message was..."Mom if you are alright go out in the back yard and wave so I can see you" To bad I wasn't home. The news vans searched for damage to broadcast from, but our community is fairly new and there was no dramatic damage like there was in the older neighboring town of Pomona. I am just glad everyone was OK, and the damage was minimal. There are some bricks raised on the Patio. But we are fine....We left for Utah the next day, so I didn't get all the mess cleaned up. I looked in my craft room....boxes fell in that room. When I have a couple of uninterrupted days I will attempt to clean that room.(the mess is not all earthquake related)

Happy Anniversary Holly and Sam

It is hard to believe you have been married 8 years! It doesn't seem that long ago we were preparing for the festivities. You were so prepared to be sealed in the temple, and it was such
an awsome day. It has been great to watch you grow together as a couple, and watch you as parents. You both are wonderful. I love you. We are looking forward to the 3 days with the girls. We promise not to spoil them very much while you are away. Have a great time.

Helping Grandpa Water

Nora and Sara came for a "quick" visit just as Grandpa started to water. Of course he had helpers. Sara loves playing in the hose. In fact, she likes being "in charge of the hose"
Nora on the other hand likes to fill up bottles and take the water to the plants that way. She also put a Twinkle and Sprinkle Shirt on to keep dry. She just didn't take off her regular clothes, so she would have something dry to put on.

So out came more Twinkle and Sprinkle shirts to go home in. I wonder how many shirts are at the Rosener house now?

Happy Fathers Day

Nora and Sara painted a shirt for Andy, complete with handprints and glitter. Andy is a glitter kind of guy. Sara wouldn't be in the picture. So Happy Fathers Day (late) Our kids are so lucky to have you as their dad.
But as you say. "Grandchildren are the reward for not killing your own kids when you were justified". We have great kids, and you are an awsome dad, ( husband to!). Love to you.

Yeah Wes

This is the picture of the truck after Wesleys accident. We are grateful he wasn't hurt any more than he was.........
Are you ready for the story. It will probably loose something in the telling. As you know Wes is a guy of few words. Andy got a text from him that said. "I have been in an accident. I am fine, the truck not so much." Andy text him back with "Define fine" (he does know his son) Wesleys text. "Just a small cut" So Andy called him. Wes said "It is not bad, the paramedics are working on me. They are asking me questions, I need to hang up." Andy:"one quick question, who hit who?" Wes: I don't know if it was a sideswipe or a head on, got to go" Next text message from Wes: They are taking me to the Hospital! at least this time it wasn't by helicopter. We got the word that the truck was totaled, and that the accident was Wesleys fault. It seems he pulled an all nighter studying for a final, and on the way home dozed off, crossed the center line, in Carbon Canyon. It could have been a lot worse. The other person was not hurt, and his car was drivable. Wes has just completed 1 year of college, and now will have a huge insurance bill. After looking at replacement trucks, which is what he really would have liked, we decided to have him drive Andys 6 yr old Honda, and for Andy to get a new car.
Stay tune for chapter 2

Whose bike is this?

Wes bought a bike. He was in an accident and totaled his truck. When Andy saw the bike, he thought it would be one big enough for him to ride, He took it for a spin in the culdasac. He hasn't been on a bike since..........well......dirt was invented.
It is a nice sturdy bike. With gas prices the way they are, Wes will get some good use out of it.
Maybe Andy too.

Grandma and the Babies

Sara likes to "feed" the babies. She likes grandma to hold and rock her, while she holds and rocks her babies. She sings the cutest songs to them. If Sara is feeding a baby, grandma has to do the same. She shoves the bottle in the dolls mouth, makes slurping sounds, and then smiles and says ..."mmmm tasty". She thinks she can do everything Nora can do. Last night she announced that she had to go "Potty" after Nora did. I finally figured out that she ment, to wash her hands in the sink, after climbing up the step ladder. Fun times ahead.
