Gardening Update

The peas really grew! After insisting that she
didn't like peas. Nora ate all of them except 2.
She let Sara and Grandma each have one.
She thinks they are tasty!!
Now if we can get her to leave them on the vine
and fully mature before she eats them.

Fun Times with Nora

Nora and Grandpa went to Cooking Class, Grandpa forgot the camera. But they had fun. They made pudding cupcakes, the marshmellow flower......not so tasty.

They also made a mothers day picture frame for Holly. Andy wasn't familiar with the way that paint pens were supposed to work (the tip was not supposed to stay in the cap) so there was a lot of paint on this project, thank goodness it had a week to dry before mothers day.
Nora also got to spend the night, and have a bath, by herself (without sara) in the big tub, and sleep in her Elmo bed. We had so much fun, can't wait to do it again!

Here to day and gone tomorrow.

I was having an "interesting day" when I answered the door, one Friday afternoon, to a very nice young man who was doing tree triming. Andy and I had talked about getting rid of the trees whose roots are causing problems with our grass and walkway. So......they came back the next day and removed our trees. I am going to miss the shade. It was a fun experience to watch. Now to repair the sprinkling system that went nuts when the trees were removed. We don't have a clue as to what we want to do to relandscape the yard. We are open for ideas.

Saras Adventures With Grandpa

We recently realized that when Nora and Sara are here together, Nora is Grandpas girl, and Sara sticks with me. Andy really hadn't had a chance to do anything one on one with Sara. So one Saturday recently they had a chance. So grandpa went to Lowes and bought some plants so they could play in the dirt together. Sara didn't like the dirt, but she liked the ceramic bunnies and dogs we have in the garden area. Fun times!

A day with Sara

She cracks me up! I can carry on a real conversation with her. She sometimes speaks in sentences! She comes with a "list" of what she wants to do. Today it was the dolls, both of them, she likes to feed them, and Dr. them. Her favorite is giving the medicine, for the first time she tried out the stethoscope. Her other favorite thing is to be read to, and today was no exception. Eight books later, and many of them being read more than once.....we were done with the reading. She thinks all the sounds she makes are words, more and more each day, more of them really are words. Too Cute!

Another Day with Nora

Nora came to play today on our weekly Grandma and Nora Day. We were playing with the moon sand. A toy by the way, I do not recomend. She said "Take my picture grandma with the big mountain I made. You can put it on your blog!"
The picture below is the first picture I took, then she wanted to do faces. How do you say No to that.

The year was 1974

These were pictures found in the boxes I was sorting for mom. They weren't in an album, so they were easy to scan and put on the blog. It is hard to believe that these were taken 34 years ago. I was so young and skinny! We spent our anniversary doing regular stuff, but last night we went to the temple. The little Redlands temple does not compare to the magnificance of the Salt Lake Temple where we were married. But the calm, peaceful and loving feelings are there in abundance. I remember receiving my endowments just 2 days before the wedding. That was how they did it back then. I remember being very overwhelmed by all that transpired in those few days. Andy and I were guessing at how many times we had been back to the temple in the last 34 years, and figured we had averaged 9 times a year. Between the two of us over 600 times. Not much changes in the temple, yet each time there is more to learn. It truly is Gods University, and a place of refuge. The 2 lovely ladies are my sisters, Janice and Lorraine, the guy with hair at the piano, is my brother Ron, and Aunt Osh at the book. The bride and groom, really are Andy and me.! I am so grateful for the blessings of the temple, grateful for the covenants made there, and for the blessings that come from making and keeping covenants. One of these anniversaries we will go on that Alaskan Cruise that we had planned on for our 25th.
