One of the things the girls like to do when I have them for the day is to go to the new Local Library. They have kid computers with age
appropriate software that they can play with. We also check out a couple of books to read at grandmas house. I have had an on going love/hate relationship with the new automated check out system. (Librarians no longer check out books). At first to circumvent this, I would buy something from the friends of the Library room, and when I paid for it the
Librarian would check out my books. But recently I really didn't like waiting in line with the girls so I have attempted the
automated process. Well, yesterday was my crowning embarrassment. I got the thing to scan my card...good
beginning. I put in my pass word...phone number, how hard can it be, and it kept rejecting it. I was sure I knew my phone number. Finally it got fed up with me, and I got the big red X on the screen, and instructed to go see the
Librarian, my tries had expired. I handed her the card and told her my pass word was not working. She looked at the card and looked at me, and handed me back my card with out a single word. I had been using the
Discovery Science
Annual Pass Card to try and check out library books.
