The best day ever.

Sara and I had a Grandma day. I don't really need to say more. We always have so much fun. This time we went on an adventure (It is always an adventure if Grandma is driving). I really enjoy the nativity display at the Upland Stake Center. For the past few years something has always conflicted with it, so during the day, Sara and I went. Of course we had to go to lunch too. In stead of the Chick- fil- A that we planned ( couldn't find it) we went to Denny's ( a grown up restaurant) They had great grilled cheese according to Sara. She was by far the youngest person there. Then we spent the next few hours at the Nativity Display. Sara was fascinated by all of the displays. This one that she is standing in front of is an entire city of Bethlehem. The lady that it belonged to was in the room. She shut the lights off so we could see the special lighting. She has been collecting the pieces since 1988. There was a children's room with all kinds of activities. Since it wasn't crowded, we had a great time. So much fun that Grandma didn't watch the time, and ended up driving home in the dark,(opps) getting home just before we had to leave for our own ward party. Thank goodness I had already made the salad. Thanks Sara for a great time!

Garage Day with Grandpa

Nora
Sara
Mia
Instead of going to the Discovery Science Center, Grandpa had a project he had been trying to finish for months, and was waiting for a time when the girls were here to help paint. Nora helped him seal the wood, while Sara helped me with Christmas Decorations. Mia joined us and wanted to paint to. The girls did a great job, and now we have 2 storage boxes for the Upstairs grandma room. Don't you just love the girls wearing Grandpas shirts?

Happy Birthday Ron

Easter 1960
November 2011
My brother turned 60 this year. His wife Lottie, wanted to have a surprise party for him. Janice arranged for the out of state siblings to come to the party.Vaughn came from Colorado, and Lorraine from Kansas. We all wanted to spend time together, so our job was to keep him away from the house so she could get the preparations done. It was a challenge. But ... we had a great time. We went to the cemetery, had an In-n-Out picnic there (those out of state sibs have an obsession with In-n-Out) went down to the beach and pier, and just had a fun day of hanging out and visiting. Got Ron to the church, I am sure he knew something was up, and a very nice party was given in his honor. He has a lot of friends that love and admire him. He is a wonderful man, very talented and generous, and fun to be around.

Fun at Disney Land

We went to Disney Land with the Roseners and Wes and Dana, really we went to California Adventure. Andy and I had never really spent any time there. The Roseners were great tour guides, we saw almost all of it. We went on Grizzly Rapids, it was a hot day. We saw the Aladdin play (my gimpy knee got us floor level seats). Talked to a turtle, and rode a Ferris Wheel. Lets do it again soon.

Adventures at Oak Glen

We had so much fun with Brad, Katie, Kyle and Joshua. We pressed cider, went to the petting zoo, had lunch at Los Rios, picked Raspberries (first time), and ate cider donuts!!! A lot of things have changed since we were there the last time. Brad and Katie go every year, and they have certain orchards that they really like. It was fun to tag along.

Updating the Grandma Wall

Such a little cutie pie. It is hard to keep her clean long enough to get a picture.
Kyles favorite is our fountain, where he washes rocks and plays in the mud. I have never seen such a big smile when he jumped into the wading pool.
Not many pictures of this little one yet, he sure is a chunky one, that has a ready smile.
Sara is just 100% princess. She made the little bunny! What fun
Loved these 3 identical smile pictures, cannot believe she is now in the second grade.

Part 2 See July 2nd post

They found cancer in Andys apendix. He had colon surgery July 29, the pathology report came back, that they found no more cancer. We have been blessed. It will take 4-6 weeks for him to recover from the surgery.
